CranioSacral Therapy
CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system - comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid surrounding and protecting the brain and spinal cord. Osteopathic physician John E. Upledger developed Craniosacral therapy in the 1970s.
CST is performed using light touch to improve the functioning of the central nervous system. It encourages whole-body relaxation and releases pain and restrictions caused by old injuries, new injuries, or physical or emotional trauma.
SomatoEmotional Release is a therapeutic process that uses and expands on the principles of CST to help rid the mind and body of the residual effects of trauma.
By complementing the body's natural healing processes, CST is effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction, including:
Migraine and Headaches
Chronic Neck and Back Pain
Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome (TMJ)
Motor-Coordination Impairments
Central Nervous System Disorders
Orthopedic Problems
Concussions and Traumatic Brain Injuries
Spinal Cord Injuries
Scoliosis
Learning Disabilities
Chronic Fatigue
Emotional Difficulties
Stress and Tension-Related Problems
Fibromyalgia and other Connective-Tissue Disorders
Neurovascular or Immune Disorders
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
Post-Surgical Dysfunction
